DISCLAIMER: we took low definition pictures hoping to speed up the download process for you...
however, the quality isn't the best so in the future we will take some higher
definition pictures and post them.

In August of 2001, we decided to go with a builder and have our own house built. They broke ground
the end of summer and they were ready for us to move in at the end of October.

Front view of our new home

Walking in from the front door
you are surrounded by a warm color of "Copper Classic". John and his sister and her husband painted the walls (Shandy couldn't paint because of the pregnancy) and the trim work in a high gloss white. This is the Living room set up for Christmas.
***Somehow the correct picture isn't loading and one of John and August in army camoflauge is... I'll fix it later but for now I just made it tiny so it wouldn't take too long to download... check back soon.***
The columns Shandy had to have
One of the main reasons for building
(at least to Shandy) was that she wanted
columns in the house. They help seperate
the Living room and dining rooms. It's also
a greatplace to add more holiday decor!
The door off to the left is the
entrance to John's office.
Kitchen/Dining room
We should have turned off the lights when taking this picture because it makes the color look "weird". The paint we used is called "Aloe" and is used throughout the entire kitchen and dining rooms. Shandy wallpapered half way up in the dining room and then placed a border above that.
Dining room
This is the view from the kitchen
looking into the dining room.
The door on the left goes into
the laundry room and then into a
bathroom and also the garage.
The door on the right is a little
closet. Also, more true color
of kitchen paint.
Looking into the L.R. from Kitchen
The boys bathroom
This bathroom is located at the
top of the stairs. As you can see
it has a "fish" theme. John
picked out the countertop and
the linoleum.
Master Bathroom
Obviously off of the master bedroom. We had a soaker tub put in and added some skylights. Access to the walk in closet is through here, also.
August and Seth's room
Their room is still "in the works".
August has a Buzz Lightyear (from
Toy Story) bed
and Seth has a Scooby Doo bed.
Their room is painted two-toned
in shades of blue.
John is planning on painting a
mural on their walls. The plan
is to have X-men, Scooby Doo
and Dinosaurs.
New Baby's room
This room will eventually be where the new baby will be. For right now, Shandy and the boys use it as their little preschool room that they do together.
Our back yard
Right now it is a big
mud pit, but hopefully in
the spring we will be able to install a
yard. Our lot ends back near that white
"well" you see in the picture. We
had John's old curbing boss
come and install some landscape
curb this fall.
Master Bedroom
I wasn't going to put this in, but decided to go ahead. As you can see, decorating still needs to happen in this room. We did get it painted in the color "Twilight Shadow" - basically a deep plum color which we both really love. It compliments our bedding very nicely.
MORE TO COME...
We still need to post pictures
of John's office, the family room
and of our bedroom...
hopefully we will get on the ball
and have those posted soon.
Thanks for checking our new home!
